Honoring Dr. King’s Legacy: Ensley District Developers’ Journey with the Ensley Community

Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s holiday is a time for reflection and gratitude at Ensley District Developers. We see our work in the Ensley community, especially the Ramsay McCormack building project, as more than just development; it's a privilege and an opportunity to honor Dr. King's life's work through our actions and commitments.

Dr. King's vision of a community united in purpose and equality resonates deeply with us. In the spirit of his legacy, we excitedly participated in the Ensley Recreation Center's Christmas event this past Christmas, giving five $100 gift cards to the older youths. It was a small gesture of our larger commitment to fostering hope and joy in the community, especially among its younger members.

Looking ahead to 2024, our focus is firmly on catalytic development that aligns with Dr. King’s ideals of community progress and inclusivity. The reconstruction of the historic Ramsay McCormack building is not just about physical infrastructure; it's about building a foundation for a community that uplifts and supports each other.

The process of bringing a project like the Ramsay McCormack building to life involves a myriad of talented individuals - architects, lawyers, financial investors, engineers, construction workers, HVAC professionals, inspectors, plumbers, and many more. We want to share these stories with you. It’s important for us that the community, especially the youth, understands the vast array of educational and job opportunities available in the infrastructure sector. These professions are more than jobs; they are pathways to significantly impacting your community and shaping your future.

As we move forward, even through the lingering adverse economic impact of the COVID pandemic, we do so with the understanding that working with the Ensley community is a privilege. It's an honor to contribute to a legacy Dr. King would be proud of – a community built on equality, opportunity, and collective growth.

Thank you, Ensley, for the chance to be a part of your story and for allowing us to pay homage to Dr. King's enduring legacy through our work.

Here’s to a 2024 filled with progress, unity, and partnership!

Warm regards,

Llevelyn Rhone, Project Manager at Ensley District Developers, LLC
